Cancellation Policy

Policies Thank you for understanding that these policies and guidelines are vital to the sustainability of my business.  I’ve carefully created every policy and guideline below in a way that is designed to ensure that the service experience and quality of work delivered to all of my guests is the absolute best.  How to arrive for your appointment When you're getting your service, we ask that you arrive with your hair as follows to help ensure the best possible results: Please have clean hair washed within the last 48 hours with minimal styling products. For best results, I also recommend using a clarifying shampoo such as Redken cleansing cream to help remove any product buildup that would affect your hair's ability to receive the color, to get the best results from the service. Please avoid washing your hair for 2-3 days to help lessen scalp sensitivity after your service. Please make sure your hair is free of any tangles and is not matted - anything more than simple detangling (usually less than 2 minutes) is not built into the service time.  Please arrive with your hair free of excessive tangles. Any detangling that takes more than 5 minutes counts as "excessive" in how it pertains to my booking times. That could cause me to run behind and into the time reserved for my next guest.  If you have excessive tangles and that is part of your concern and reason for booking, please tell me BEFORE booking, and I can extend the length of your appointment. For your special occasion style/updo  Please arrive with your hair prepped as follows: Hair should be clean, with minimal styling products & washed within 48 hours. For optimal results, we recommend washing and blow-drying your hair the evening before.  If you would prefer to have a wash and blow-dry before your style, that is another appointment add-on, and the cost is $25. It needs to be booked at the same time your book your special occasion style, or I cannot guarantee availability.  Chemical Services  For a chemical service, please wash your hair. Style your hair as you normally would,within 24 hours before the service. Doing this will set us up for the best service possible Help me give you the most accurate application/color placement so I can protect the integrity of your hair. Set us up for the best service possible. Help me see how you're able to style it at home. Help me clearly see it in its everyday state so I can make any adjustments to your service that might help you love it even more. By booking this appointment, I understand that if I don't adhere to these policies, that Babs may not be able to give me the service I booked in either the amount of time scheduled, or to the best of their ability and reserves the right to not proceed with the appointment as well as charging a lost revenue fee of 50% of scheduled services, I understand that by arriving at the appointment and not following the policies, I may be charged a fee of 50% of service total and or not receive the service I booked because Babs will not have time to complete my service in the time allotted.   Also that YOU acknowledge that there are NO REFUNDS! Please wear a shirt without a collar to color appointments - while it is rare, color may end up on clothing, so please keep that in mind when dressing for your appointment. I suggest bringing an old t-shirt to change into under your cape to guarantee the safety of your clothing.  I have wraps available for color services. To protect your clothing, I recommend changing into a wrap. Barbara Dubois is not responsible for clothing during a color service.  No Guests/Kids Policies I love your littles, but I don't have a dedicated safe space for children to be while I'm working, and it can be dangerous for them because there are hot tools, chemicals, and other hazards within reach of little hands. Having kids in the salon while you're receiving a service is not only a safety risk to them but a liability issue with my business. I only allow one/two person at a time inside my salon space. Due to the size of my suite, I don't have room for multiple guests. If you arrive with a guest, they will be asked to wait outside the salon building until your appointment is over.  Late Arrivals  When you reserve an appointment with me, you are agreeing to the minimum service price for that appointment, with the understanding that pricing is on an “and up” basis.  If your late arrival prevents me from performing the full service in the time allotted for your appointment, I reserve the right to charge you in full for the service, reschedule you with a late arrival fee, or charge you a no show fee, which is payment in full for the time reserved as I would be unable to fill that spot.  Please arrive on time for your appointment.  Late arrivals can throw the day into chaos and cause a domino effect of unnecessary stress and tension for both my clients and myself, so my policy is that I do not accept late arrivals as it's unfair to everyone else.  If you arrive 15 minutes past the start of your appointment, I will not be able to provide your service, and you'll need to reschedule. If you're late, I may not be able to give you the full service that you booked. One late arrival can upend multiple appointments, and if that is the case, your appointment will be rescheduled at my discretion. Give you the full service that you booked or reschedule you for another time when I'll be able to complete your service without rushing to stay on schedule for the rest of the day If I run late to accommodate late arrivals, I either have to hurry so that I'm not running behind for my next guest or take the amount of time that the service requires, which will also cause me to run late and start my next guest late. Neither of these are acceptable options for me to maintain the quality of work I'm known for and the standards of service I set for my business. Cancellation Policy Please read my cancellation policy carefully. By booking, you are accepting these terms. I require 24 hour notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. Canceling or rescheduling after that timeframe will result in a fee of 50% of total services. Or when you cancel with less notice it makes it harder for me to fill the time that was reserved for you, and causes me to lose money. These terms are non-negotiable and If these terms are not acceptable to you or are not something that you feel comfortable or that you would be able to uphold, that’s ok, but we are not a match to work together.  Covid/Illness policy Please understand that due to these rather strange times we are living in that my cancelling within 24 hours for ANY reason, will still result in  a cancellation fee of 50% of total service which 50% of that can be applied to a rescheduled appointment. No further bookings will be accepted until this fee has been paid. If you are feeling unwell, or if there is a chance you have been exposed to any contagious illnesses within 48 hours of your appointment, we kindly ask that you  Contact us directly via barbaradubois1984@gmail.com and let us know so that we can reschedule you.  Staying healthy and well is my first priority for you and also for me, as it’s a non-negotiable for me to continue to keep my business running.  No Shows No shows are unacceptable and cause me to lose money.  I have text as well as email confirmations in place to remind you that your appointment is coming up.  My no show terms are non-negotiable and are at my discretion barring very rare circumstances like hospitalizations or true emergencies. No call/no-shows will be charged a no-show fee that must be paid before another appointment is booked. Redo/Fixes After your service is completed, if you feel that you need an adjustment or something isn't quite right, please contact me within 7 days of the service via my email barbaradubois1984@gmail.com . When contacting me, please let me know your specific concerns or issues, and include a few clear, well-lit pictures of the area of concern. Please remember, especially with grey coverage, that regrowth will appear, for some people, within even a week or two, and that hair grows on average about ½ an inch per month. Corrective Color Corrective color will most likely take more than one session, and price quotes are always on an "and up" basis.  I take steps to help preserve and maintain the integrity of your hair  Treatments like deep conditioners or bond builders are included in the service and are non-negotiable.  Like all new guests or anyone wanting a color correction, I do need to see pictures and have a  consultation, this helps both of us. Once I see your hair and have a clear understanding of your goal, I can give you an idea of if what you're looking for is something that I can achieve while maintaining the integrity of your hair. I can also tell you how many sessions it will take to get you where you want to be - and give you an idea of cost.  Product Returns - No Refunds My product return policy is as follows - Due to the nature of my small boutique business, I can not accept returns on retail items, and all items are FINAL SALE.  All hair, hairpieces of any kind, extensions, halos are FINAL SALE.  All extensions, are non-refundable and non-returnable once the product has been altered/ordered/customized. Timing Upon booking/consultation I’ll be able to give you an idea of how long the service will take so that you can work the appointment into your schedule accordingly. Please know that while I do my best to keep appointments to the amount of time discussed, that it’s wise to allow for extra buffer time just in case.  Deposits To book an appointment I require a card on file at time of booking/before you are booked in. Nonrefundable. If you cancel within 24 hours you still can transfer your half of your 50% charge to your next appointment within a 3 week frame. Pricing Please understand that my pricing is on an “and up” basis, the prices you see on my website are the minimum, and a consultation is recommended to get an idea of how much time your appointment will take and what the cost will be.
